⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Dr. Shigeru Yamato, CEO of Marimo5 was appointed as Executive Advisor for Sri Lankan
Corporate Health &
Productivity Award. The award is driven by the Chamber of Young Lankan Entrepreneurs (COYLE), in
collaboration with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Sri Lankan Corporate health and productivity awards, is held on lines similar to the health and productivity stock selection program held in Japan by Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) as well as Data Health Policy by Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare in Japan. It will target HR managers of companies covering health and productivity management programs for employee health.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀Health and Productivity management refers to the strategic practice of the health control in the managerial viewpoint under the philosophy that the maintenance and improvement of the employee’s wellness lead to the future increase in profitability. Corporate Health Programs are critical for maximizing performance. Such programs are proven to improve engagement, retention, productivity and performance, all of which results in a healthier and positive thinking workforce which provides higher product quality and customer service.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀This project will contribute to maintain and improve the wellness of employees. It has been suggested that this healthcare project results in improvement in employee productivity and corporate value and reduction of cost.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The ceremony of the first Sri Lankan Corporate Health & Productivity Award was held on 13th February 2019, 4:30 pm until 6:35 pm at B.M.I.C.H exhibition & convention centre, Colombo, Sri Lanka. The event was graced by the Minister of Economic Reforms and Public Distribution Dr. Harsha de Silva as the Chief Guest and Japanese Ambassador Akira Sugiyama as the Guest of Honour.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀The winners were awarded gold and silver according to their category of enterprise, which was selected utilizing the basis of the number of their employees. Under the Small Category, Embla Software Innovations Ltd. won the Gold award, whilst GAC Shipping Ltd. won the Silver award. Under the Medium category, H-Connect Ltd. and hSenid Mobile Solutions won the Gold and Silver awards respectively. In the Large category, Nature’s Beauty Creation won the Gold award, whilst Samson Compounds Ltd. won the Silver award. In the Extra Large category, Hemas Holdings PLC and Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. (CBL) won the Gold and Silver awards respectively.
